The Latest Netflyer2 Kiosk Housings
SurfNZ Kiosks are 100 percent hands on from the drawing board to deployment. Seven years experience at Auckland international airport (AIAL) has honed our kiosk design to meet the physical demands placed upon them.
The housings are built in Auckland, New Zealand. The housing cabinet consists of a coloured Malteca (of your choice) a pre-finished panel that requires no additional surface finishing, it is a tough, scratch-resistant surface that won't fade, streak or craze. Aluminium front panels complete the exterior. Reinforced glass protects a flat panel monitor with two lockable access doors front and back for easy access to computer equipment.
Standard components comprise of a BTC 5100C keyboard with covered membrane, a Cirque systems trackpad mouse, a CashFlo 340 coin mechanism and PosiFlex credit card reader. The housings all have a cooling fan and are designed for customers to be seated at standard desk height (700mm). (Stools not supplied)
Computer hardware
The kiosk software is written for a PC running Windows OS and will require standard options such as network and USB support. The current kiosk model now deployed at Auckland and Christchurch international airports is designed to accomodate a 17" Phillips flat panel monitor with built in speakers.
Computer peripherals
The PC will require a Watchdog device to "talk-to" the kiosk software. The device type can vary from a power supply variety to the current low-profile PCI model. What this does is enable the kiosk to operate un-attended 24/7 with the ability to reboot the PC when a lock up or freeze occurs. It's primary function however is to reboot the PC by the software at least once a day to reset the kiosks online reports.
